Isn't it a pity?
The wiki portion of the site has been completely deleted. Some spammers registered dozens of accounts through the Wiki portion and then edited some of the pages, completely erasing whatever content was there before and then leaving hundreds of links to completely useless virus-ridden spammy-type sites. There was so much damage that Kelly and I decided it would be best to just delete it all; there really was no way we could ever fix everything they messed up. All of the changes and now useless pages caused so much disk space to be taken up on the server that we were quickly running out of room and probably would not have been able to even store so much as another fanfic soon. Luckily, the fanfic section seems to be okay.
I am currently working on migrating content to my own server. We're still running low on storage space for some reason and I want to make sure we can still house fic, so videos, pics, etc. will be making their way here. This space will act as temporary headquarters for wmtdb. It was already in the works to undertake a massive reorganization of the site, anyway, but work had yet to actually begin on that. I won't be putting much work into this temporary version aside from creating some extremely basic pages linking to videos and such. Instead, I'm going to focus my time on actually starting the rebuilding effort that Kelly and I already had planned. So things will probably be ugly and awkward for a little bit, and for that, I apologize. I also apologize for letting this whole mess happen in the first place. It was something that I should have known was possible and now we've lost a lot of user-generated content that we'll never get back. Please remember, though, that all fanfic, icons and pictures in the galleries, and videos are still okay. It is only content that was on the Wiki part of the site, including the message boards, that has been lost.
